9 marzo 2009 il Papa  in visita al Campidoglio


Signor Sindaco, ho ravvisato nel suo intervento il fermo proposito di operare perché Roma continui ad essere faro di vita e di libertà, di civiltà morale e di sviluppo sostenibile, promosso nel rispetto della dignità di ogni essere umano e della sua fede religiosa. Mi preme assicurare Lei ed i suoi collaboratori, che la Chiesa cattolica, come sempre, non farà mancare il suo attivo sostegno ad ogni iniziativa culturale e sociale rivolta a promuovere il bene autentico di ogni persona e della Città nel suo insieme.
Segno di questa collaborazione vuole essere il dono del
"Compendio della Dottrina Sociale della Chiesa",
che con affetto offro al Sindaco e agli altri Amministratori.

...gli abiti indossati dal Pontefice sono un dono della Diocesi e riprendono i ricami e disegni di abiti liturgici antichi in uso nella stessa diocesi....
il Trono con il baldacchino sono del 1700 usati per la Messa,
conservati nell'Abbazia e ricamato interamente a mano dalle monache di Avezzano...
